HAWKS ADVANCE TO FACE BARONS

The Mitchell Hawks decided outscoring the Patriots was the way to do it Thursday night as it took goals from Pat Looby and the winner from the stick of Patrick McLellan just over two minutes apart in the final six minutes to lead the Hawks to a 7-6 win. The Hawks stormed out to a convincing 5-2 lead on goals by Jared Carr, Kevin Baetz(pp), Ryan Magagnin, Looby(pp), Mac Campbell as they chased starter Brendan Zwambag from the net , who was nothing short of sensation up to that point in holding the Patriots in the series. Mt.Forest chipped away making it 5-4 after two periods then scoring two goals 2 minutes apart midway through the third period to take a stunning lead , only to see the character of the Hawks fight back scoring a pair of there to take the win. The Hawks outshot the Patriots 55- 29.
