
ANOTHER TOUGH OT LOSS

Hanover Barons and the Mitchell Hawks battled saturday night at the Durham arena, and again needed OT to decide things with Rob Hellyer scoring his second of the night at the 9:27 mark of the first overtime to lead the Barons to a 4-3 win and take a 3-2 lead in the best of seven series. With
game six back in Mitchell on Tuesday March 9th at 730pm. The Barons built an early 2-0 first period lead just midway through the first period on goals by Steven Hillier, and Hayden Smith, but the Hawks Tyler Van Drunen answered with 4:39 left to cut into the lead. Hellyer scored midway through the second period , but late in the second with 5 mins remaining the Hawks started to come on and JJ Sparling scored then about 3 minutes later Pat Looby scored, to tie the game at 3-3 heading to the second intermission. In the third the hawks worked hard and where relentless with there work ethic, but Dave Clement stood tall , and Josh Nurse was solid in a scoreless third period. At the 11:33 Hellyer got loose in the slot and made no mistake ending the tight contest as the teams prepare to head back to Mitchell for game six.
