SYKES O.T. GOAL COMPLETES COMEBACK

A capacity crowd was witness to a great comeback in the third period , trailing 5-1 to Hanover the Hawks scored got goals from Tyler Million his first of the season , Brent Rae, Jalen Aitcheson, and pp goal by Jacob Patterson with 7 seconds remaining to tie the game, then Ryan Sykes scored on the pp 1:12 into overtime .

METEORS MINOR HOCKEY NIGHT RESCHEDULED

Due to the cancellation of the game on Saturday night, the minor hockey night will take place on Tues Jan 31st at 730pm vs Hanover Barons. On Sunday , the Hawks built a 5-2 third period lead and defeated the pesky Sailors 5-4 in Goderich Sunday afternoon to clinch second place and a first round bye in the Western Jr C Playoffs , and will now get home ice advantage in the second round .

MITCHELL METEORS MINOR HOCKEY NIGHT

Saturday night's show down for second place with the Hanover Barons is also Mitchell Meteors Minor Hockey Night . All minor hockey players are admitted free to the game , and there will be a silent auction for Red Wings Tickets package, and other stuff as well at the game , to go along with a Steak Dinner night, Blue Line club, and draws for the kids and a tyke game between the first and second period. . Plan to attend the anticipated showdown.

WEEKEND SWEEP

The Mitchell Hawks grabbed four points this weekend in two big wins , over Kincardine 5-0, and Friday night in Wingham 5-2. Reinhardt recorded the shutout last night, and Van Boekel played as well in the final 6 minutes , to earn a share of the shutout. In Wingham on Friday night , Masson continued his hot streak with a five point night, as the Hawks started the weekend off on the right foot with a solid road win over the Ironmen. With the wins they finally grabbed a share of second place , with a visit from Hanover next Sat 715pm, and on the road in Goderich 430 Sunday to close out the regular season .
